My name's Justin, and I'm a Buddhist. I take bits from Hindu, and Taoist philosophy as well though. I blog about religion, politics, philosophy, and whatever else I feel like blogging about. I've grown a lot over the years, but I'm still far from where I want to be. If you have any questions then ask away! Don't be shy.

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Howard Thurman

The road to enlightenment is like the paths of the Himalayas, it has unexpected twists and barriers, but in the end the whole journey there was magnificent and the reward is unexplainable.

This is the Islamic Hajj, which is a journey to Mecca. Although Islamic radicals have given Islam a bad name, the actual people who embody it are just as dedicated as Christians, Jewish, and Buddhist people. They do not deserve to be persecuted against, just look at this amazing act of faith, the unity of them. If we all were this connected with our faith and teachings the world would be much better off. Much love and respect to the Islamic faith as well as the other wordily religions.

We thought of life by analogy with a journey, with a
pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end
and the thing was to get to that end. Success or
whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you’re dead.
But we missed the point the whole way along.
It was a musical thing and you were supposed to
sing or to dance while the music was being played.
