My name's Justin, and I'm a Buddhist. I take bits from Hindu, and Taoist philosophy as well though. I blog about religion, politics, philosophy, and whatever else I feel like blogging about. I've grown a lot over the years, but I'm still far from where I want to be. If you have any questions then ask away! Don't be shy.

The Ten Rules of the Dharma

samsaranmusing:

The Great Sage Manu set down ten the rules of the Dharma:

1.  Patience (dhriti),

2.  Forgiveness (kshama),

3.  Piety or self control (dama),

4.  Honesty (asteya),

5.  Sanctity (shauch),

6.  Control of senses (indraiya-nigrah),

7.  Reason (dhi),

8.  Knowledge or learning (vidya),

9.  Truthfulness (satya)

10. Absence of anger (krodha).

Manu further writes, “Non-violence, truth, non-coveting, purity of body and mind, control of senses are the essence of dharma”.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.

In the end these things matter most:
How well did you love?
How fully did you love?
How deeply did you learn to let go?

No sigas las huellas de los maestros, busca lo que ellos buscaron
Should not follow in the footsteps of the masters, you must seek what they sought

Meditate. Live purely. Be quiet. Do your work with mastery. Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds! Shine.
